CLASS COMIC ISSUE RUNS

There have been many requests for information about the month/year of publication of titles  and I think this needs to be dealt with.

I think I must have been 9 years old when I read my first Class Comic. I'm 49 now so that was a ...uh,"while" ago!  I seriously began trying to collect and work out which title was published when in 1979.  sadly,I never achieved this goal.  I do know,however,that the late Denis Gifford did have all this information -where that is now who knows!

Denis,of course,co-published the ALLY SLOPER magazine with Alan Class.

Here is a statistic to show how hard the job is,based on nearly 30 years of notes I believe the list and numbers are complete.  Between the first Class Comic in 1959 to the last in 1989,over a million comics were printed encompassing some 1,400 issues of Class titles were produced.

It has been very difficult over the years to try and pick up Class Comics,though the line appears to be attracting a few new collectors.

There were one off Class titles ,two issues and so on.

I have based the following on the last known issue numbers of some titles as well as notes made over the years while talking to people such as Denis Gifford and members of the old Association of Comic Enthusiasts [ACE].

If anyone can correct me –please do!

I do believe I once passed up on a Just Dennis set not realising it was published by Class which has ticked me off ever since.

Sharp-eyed fans will notice some of these titles re-appeared as sub-titles on the covers of other Class Comics.

I believe these are all of the titles published by Class over his career.

All of the cover scans on this page are dated as 1963 when up for sale.  This may give us an idea how to date early titles.

Incidentally,all -ALL- were sold for between £1.90-£2.50,which shows that the pricing guide I gave elsewhere on site is quite accurate.
